The Natural Ways To Ease ingrown Hair


  1. Sugar
A natural exfoliating agent, sugar can be used to eliminate the dead skin cells, in the process enabling the hair to come out of your skin. Prepare a scrub by mixing 2 tbsp sugar in 1 tbsp jojoba oil and 2 drops each of lavender and tea tree oils. Apply on the concerned area and scrub in circular motions for a couple of minutes. Rinse off the area with warm water. Repeat twice a week to ease your issue.

  1. Baking Soda
The anti-inflammatory nature of baking soda soothes the irritation and itching. The redness is also eased as you exfoliate the affected area. Dissolve 1 tbsp baking soda in 250 ml water. Dip a clean cotton swab in the soda solution and dab in the infected area. Wash off using cold water after 5 to 7 minutes. You can do this thrice a day till your ingrown hair vanishes.

  1. Tea Tree Oil
Laden with antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties, tea tree oil is quite often a suggested grandma’s remedy for the razor bumps. It heals the skin while taking enough care to avert infection. Prepare a diluted solution of tea tree oil by adding 6 drops of this essential oil to 2 tbsp distilled water. Dip a clean cotton in the solution and dab on the affected area after cleansing the location. Wash off with lukewarm water after 10 minutes. Repeat twice or thrice a day until you feel you are free from ingrown hair.
You can also mix 1 tbsp olive oil with 4 drops of this oil and use it to massage atop the ingrown hair. Wash off using lukewarm water after 15 minutes. Do this thrice a day for faster healing.
  1. Aspirin
Wait! This over the counter drug can be used topically to ease the inflammation, redness, and pain associated with razor bumps. The presence of salicylic acid enables the exfoliation of dead cells, allowing the offending hair to loosen up. Plus, a mild infection also gets a cure. Crush two tablets of aspirin and mix it water enough to make a paste. Mix in ½ a tbsp honey. Apply on the affected region and massage gently to eliminate the dead cells. Wash off after 10 minutes with warm water and pat dry. You can try this remedy along with other home remedies twice a week. However, if you have a sensitive skin, then please do stay away from topical application of aspirin.
